Now what ...
What type of 6 months doctor supervised diet plan did anybody use.. I have my medical records and it shows the weight gain and my pcp documented that I was trying to lose weight... can use some help here..
I've already been denied, now Vandy said that they could not pull a 6 month period out of the records to send back to insurance.. Looks like no surgery for me.....

Before I made the final decision to pursue WLS, I convinced my husband to join Weigh****chers with me in Jan. 05. I enjoy the meetings, the accountability and support.
I have never tried any other weight loss programs or pills. I am very strange about fad diets. Long story short... my husband has lost 119 pounds and I have lost about 20 pounds. I can say he is the healthiest thin he has ever been. Although I have not had matching success at least I have not gained 20 pounds over the course of 10+ months and I feel very good about proceeding with WLS, hopefully in early Jan. 06.
If you have a supportive PCP, you can go to your PCP for weigh ins once a month for 6 months. That has to be your primary reason that you visited your PCP. They will document your efforts make recommendations and chart your weight. This is acceptable to insurance. When I went to Dr. Hadi's office that was a recommedation made by them if I didn't have the upfront money to pay for their 3 month program. My insurance accepted either their 3 month program or a 6 month one through my PCP. BC/BS will accept the 6 month one with your PCP but not the 3 month.
Surgery is not out just postponed to make sure all is in order. Just another hurdle to get you closer to your goal. Hang in there!
