Yesterday I went to the doctor hoping that they would send me for testing to find out why my back, legs and thigh hurt so bad all the time...to the point that I take tylenol pm all day long to keep the pain down... I go in and the nurse practioner more or less says there is nothing they can do for me... and furthermore the doctor wouldn't either. Needless to say I left..before the visit was even over... they called me at home and told me they would set me up with a neurologist... and that was it... well I called about meds that I needed new rx's for (prescription) and they told me that I would have to come back in and get blood drawn before they would give me another prescription ... needless to say... I am going to go without that particular medicine... I cannot ... NO WONT go back... they are rude, and hurtful.. and I have never felt so woebegone.... Have you all gotten this kind of treament ?? I mean how hard is it to get help with pain??? I seem to be the only person I know that has had to jump through such hoops to get any help..... what do I do????? Tina

Tina, I hate to hear that happened to you. I would definitely suggest changing doctors immediately. There is no reason you should have to put up with a DR's office like that. Whatever you do, do not let them win. Do not go without medicine or be in pain because of them. If you do have to go back there, keep your head held high. You have us on your side- They don't want to make all of us show up in their lobby with picket signs! We will do it.

Dear Tina, Many doctor's offices see obese poeple as time bombs and a walking pharamcy cabinet. Plus most obese poeple are too nice because they do not want to hurt poeple feelings and we are not too asured with ourselves either. That sents out signals to others to treat us badly. Well we do take that treatment and not say a thing about it. Mainly because we want to fit in and not draw attention to us. I would find another doctor and I would call my insurance company and file a complain against you doctor's office. If that does not work, write to the new papers and talk shows. Someone will want to hear how you are treated. It is hard right now sense the cut backs by the gov. Because my mother who had spinal surgery, three knees surgery and two heart surgeries and she has to go back for about six more surgeries can not get the medication she needs. She takes over 29-35 medications a day to stay alive. And she is only getting half if that filled. It is fill this meds. now and cut them up into 1/4 or less so she can filled another kind next month. This rule really hurts the ones on Medicaid and Medacare alot. My father takes about 22-25 meds in a day and he had heart surgery and is insulin diabetic. He has to have his meds. too or die. He has been saving his meds. so my mother can have something to fall back on if she runs out. His chest has been hurting him, but he wants to save my mother life. He said that is what a man does for family is risk life for them. You are not alone plenty of poeple are suffering from this rule. Even tried to appeal the medication list and got denied twice. Said you are not at risk.. When a doctor tells you that if you do not take this medication you will die, Then what makes you at risk? I think they are messed up in the head and they want people to suffer and hurt and call it saving money. Poeple should not be treated this way. I do so hope that you get to a better doctor and that you get the help you are so in need of. I hope you get to feeling better too. I will think of you every time I hear the Gov.'s name brought up. Hope you feel better. Tina

Tina, I'll be coming thru Cookville on Nov 11th on my way to Nashville. Tell me where and when, my power wheelchair is three hundrend pounds not counting my weight. I'll be to run over them. I've done it before, I'll be more then delighted to make them hurt for a while. And since it won't be a Monday, this blonde will be so sorry, as she continues to run over them, I love shoes that aren't steal toes. Makes my day. Anyone else you want taken care of or taken out? Let me know before next Friday otherwise they will have to just wait until Christmas when I come over that way again. Oh was that your foot, I so sorry so sorry, but I don't have eyes that are focusing right now so, oops sorry, gosh just can't see well enough to get past your big feet. Just say the word. Best word of advice is write a letter of their actions to the editor of your paper, and contact American Medical Association. Then get a copy of all your files from there, and find one that is nicer, or threat of getting their feet and toes smashed. Any one else having problems with their Dr.'s let me know. ROAD TRIP. Can you tell that it's not Monday, that's the only day I thin****il 5 pm. After that, I go for the rest of the week. I have references on that subject if you need them. Honey, I have found the best way to get rid of the major pain in my lower back, legs, and hip. I saw a neurologist, all he recommended was a pillow for me to sit on where I'm not putting any pressure on my tail bone. The pain clinic has me seeing a Chiropractor twice a week, it has made a world of difference. Your PCP isn't going to dole out pain pills if they can't figure out what is going on. Have the flatten jerk refer you to a pain clinic. I found Pheneragan for Nausea works better for pain then my hydrocodones's. My PCP will give me those a lot faster. But then my leukemia was found in my tail bone, and hip bone from an MRI in June. But with the Chiropractors help, I can walk a little bit before my legs start shaking and it's either sit down or fall down. Being obese is hard enough without a rude Dr.'s office. Being obese comes pain. Mine is from head to toe not just from being obese, but because of the leukemia in my bones and blood too. I wish you the best in all that you have to do. Get the blood work done to get your medications, then find another PCP who is nicer. Keep us informed of how things are going. We you. Let me know if you want me to take them out, Kathy's

Hi Tina, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I would definitely find another PCP!!! I've never had a doctor to treat me that way, but I've had many completely ignore the fact that I was obese....I would ask for help and they would just say "lower salt, lower calories, more exercise" ......no kidding sherlock LOL I've finally found a doctor who is actually willing to help me. Your doctor is out there too!! I wish you the best of luck. April

Thanks so much for your support... you will never know how much it is appreciated!!! kat, I would love to have you run them over... but that wouldn't accomplish anything... those people just don't care.... BUT, I will be okay... I am going to a neurologist... and I will get something done... because I have to..... It isn't my tail bone.. it is my legs... and my right hip.... and I have numbness in my right leg and right arm.... But I will get it taken care of...somehow.... I have blue cross and blue shield... (not ten care) so I am going to call my insurance company if I have any more problems.... :0) My love to you all for your love and support!!!! (((HUGS))) Tina

Hi Tina, are you diabetic? Reason, diabeties causes numbness in right leg and right arm, it's called perpheral neuopathy. It goes away once you are no longer diabetic after having surgery. Mine has gone away because of the chemo pills I take everynight. I know you will get the help you need don't let them railroad you, if the PCP can't or won't do anything, see a different Dr. I wish my sucess. Kathy
