I agree, I read the boards everyday, but since I am still in the approval process, I really don't have anything to add.....Here is where I am at....My paperwork was mailed via certified mail over a week ago....The doctor's office has received the green card back indicating that BCBS has received it....I call BCBS and they state that it does not appear that they have received it and if they have it is not in the system yet....if they have received it, it could take a couple of weeks for it to get into the system yet.....This is ridiculous....how does BCBS keep up with paperwork, if it is not entered into the system..... Also, my insurance changes to Cigna in January.....they have a little different criteria so if not approved I get to start over......will it never end.

We are dealing with the same problem, DH's paperwork was mailed from Vanderbilt certified mail on October 4, BCBS received it October 6, and signed for it at 7:34 am. On Friday October 14, it still was not showing, a representative gave me a different fax number and said to fax it to her attention and she would get it scanned into the system. Yesterday it still was not showing up, this AM it is finally showing up in the system. I don't know if it is the original or the fax. We also found out yesterday that they assigned my husband to Dr. Melvin, he had wanted Dr. Torquati, now if they change the Dr. he has to start all over again, so he will stick with Dr. Melvin even tho we have not ever met him. So we are looking at another 14 - 21 days for an answer which would put us the week of November 18. When did they submit your paperwork? I was calling every day to check about them receiving it, now I am going to wait and call next Wednesay to check. Good Luck

It was submitted October 8, 2006. BCBS is just slow inputting the data I guess, but you would think it would have showed up in their system by now......good luck to you.....i hope you hear good news quickly.

Hi ladies, when dealing with insurance companies can take a week to 6 weeks. Don't get discouraged. They have a lot of records and information to put into their system. Be patient, and don't ever give up. Your moment of glory will come they have made their decision. If by chance you receive a denial, your Dr. will find out why and you will also receive notification. There might be something that you need to do to fulfill the insuance criteria. Your Dr. will fight for you in getting you approved. I just found out thru my Oncologist that my white blood cells are in normal range and that she is giving her approval for me to have the surgery. So we all need to just wait, be patient, and keep our minds busy. Makes the time go faster. Love Kathy

Thank you Lisa. I know I am a high risk patient, but I am so thrilled that the white cells are down due to the chemo pills instead of going higher. Love ya off to Kathy

Hi Lisa, I have a friend that is going through the same thing. BCBS changed offices or something and they are running about 2 weeks behind in processing paperwork (this is what they told her). I just suggested to her to continue to call to inquire. Maybe the more pressure they receive they will speed up the process. She is growing frustrated as well. Hang in there you are very close. Lisa
