This board.....?
What has happened to this board? It used to be very active. It's gotten as bad as WVa board. No activity. I check this board several times a day and there's never much posting. Now I know there are post-ops out there, why not share some of you new food ideas with us, a recipe, how you use protein powder with your foods to get in all the protein required. I know you are out there, I've been on this board for over 2 years. I've seen a lot come and go once they get to losing their weight. Well, the pre-ops and the new post-ops really could use your help.
So come on out and get back to posting. This board needs to be livened up and new imput.
Love Kathy
Kathy, this board sucks!!
Sometimes I wonder if TN even exist at all
Maybe it's because those who do post (very few) are'nt getting any feed back at all and just take the attitude "Whats the use, I dont get any feedback anyway"
Well, you know and I know that it takes more than just us to do it.
Why we dont get any postings on here is considered trivia

Kathy,
Try as I might, I do read every day but honestly I get so depressed reading about everyone getting their surgery....that sometimes I find it hard to post... and be so positive... so I keep it to myself... I have noticed however that most times when people get their surgery they are gone once it is done.... that is truly sad.. but a fact that hasn't gone unnoticed by several of the people that used to read here...because I have been asked by a couple why they stopped writing.... my answer is usually they have a life after surgery...as before they weren't able to get out and actually enjoy living......it is great but
I have seen it happen so many times.....
I will try to post more often... and keep it upbeat... :0)
The good Lord above knows you need a break!!!
:0)
Love you for all that you have done for us, to keep our spirits up!!
Tina
Hey Ya'll, this board has gotten really slow. I post as much as I can, but being pre-op, sometimes there isn't much to say!!! I have another appt with Dr. Hadi, and hopefully now that all my tests are done, he will be recommending me for surgery!!!! My appt is on friday, so I'll be sure to post and let you all know what happened!!!

I used to post every so often but now it is even more rare. I would do my posts during down time at work and now the 'higher ups' thought it would be more cost efficient if only the 'higher ups' had internet and not the rest of us. So that, mixed with working two jobs has made things more difficult. I am now almost 8 months out and struggling with my eating. I find I can eat too much and am not always making the right decisions. I am relatively intelligent and know everything I should be doing but am dealing with the aftermath of having surgery on my belly and not on my head... you know the whole addictive personality and eating for the wrong reasons, etc. I am disappointed in myself sometimes and it is hard to fess up that I am not a perfect post-op. I want to always be in control but know I can't so I am trying one step at a time and trying to get back on track. I started at 289 (279 day of surgery) and am now at 185 so I don't feel like a failure.... just that I am failing. Sorry, not a very happy post

Hello!! This is Sara. I am trying to get in the groove here. I am PRE-OP. I hope to have my surgery this year. I also am from Andersonville. I noticed a post from here earlier. I know I can't help anyone who is post-op, but I can lend an ear, shoulder or what ever you may need. I love to chat & read. As I said, If I can help just let me know.
Love to all,
Sara.
Hi Kathy,
I used to attempt to post when I was pre-op but as I stated in a previous post responding to Missy Lea you don't get responses or acknowldgement that your post was even read. And as she stated in response to this thread some people may feel like "why continue to post". I have felt that way. After a little pep email from Missy Lea I have tried replying to more pre-ops when they have questions, concerns, or just need a little motivation.
One post here stated that as a pre-op there's not much to post. I feel as a post-op there's not a lot to post either if pre-ops don't post what information they are seeking or what they are curious about. I visit the board daily and I am more than willing to share my experience with anyone who is interested. Pre-ops probably should post more because there is so much unknown to them. Post-ops should reply to offer knowledge, support and motivation.
I visit and post on other boards here on OH in which I receive more response/feedback. It would be nice to receive the same type of response/embrace/ welcome (or whatever you want to call it) here on the TN board since this is my home state.

Hi Terri, you're right, it's what we make of it. Post-ops will post but the pre-ops need to post. Just to check in and let us know where they are on their journey, concerns, fears, and any happy news. I may be a pre-op, but I have been thru a lot of surgeries with all those post-ops over the past 2 years. I don't know what to ask, as I have read all their postings. I feel at times like I had the surgery, I get so excited for those having their surgeries, I just need the actual thing to happen to me so I will be understand how things go after surgery. Thanks Terri for posting. Your input is right on the nose, it's what we make of the board. Love Kathy
