Slow Weight Loss
My surgery was on Sept. 12th. On the 13th I had to have additional surgery to "tack up"a part of my intestine that was causing a blockage. I was in the hospital 5 days. Since then no problems. I am eating what my doctor said except I have been really slow to move completely to soft foods. I am still eating some baby foods. I make sure I get my protein in every day. Isopure drinks are a life saver because they count as part of my 64 ounces of water. I have only lost 18 pounds. At my doctor visit (a week after surgery) he said I should lose 30 pounds the first month. At this rate I won't make it. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong. Have any of you had such a slow weight loss?
Hi,
I too am a slow loser. I think maybe you feel too much presure to lose certain amounts in a certain amount of time.
I had lost 12 lbs in the first week, and I ws tickled to death
I had .lost 33 lbs in in 7 weeks, and my DR. was happy with that.
My Dr. tells me that everyone loses at different speeds and to just keeping doing what I am supposed to.
Follow your Drs. plan and the weight will come off, and try to relax about it some.
Good luck,
Billie
I wouldn't worry too much, my surgeon said that a slow steady weight loss is very good and preferable. And you will find that once you move on to more solid foods that you'll have more energy and start doing more things, exercise. Once that happens, you will see the weight dropping off.
Good luck with your journey.
