Anyone w/ bcbs tn ppo select policy with Dr. Houston?

I want him to do my surgery so bad and already have approval from insurance but received a message today from his office that he was in my network but centennial hospital isn't and was wondering if anyone else had this problem?? They suggested for me to try Baptist or Vanderbilt but with baptist it's covered in my network but the doctor's that I saw listed on this site are not and found only one from Vanderbilt that was covered in my network along with the hospital. I thought in situations like this was when out of network benefits came into play...any advice or suggestion would be so appreciated!! Thanks, Jen in TN

I was under my husband's BCBS=Select and they would not cover anything. I had Dr. Richards at Vanderbilt and he was wonderful. Susie 235/155

That's what my coverage is too -- and I went with Vanderbilt. I did not try the other hosptials since Vanderbilt was my top choice to begin with. I'm very happy with the outcome and my expereince with Vanderbilt WLS and no cost weekly meetings for support (before and after surgery). Best wishes to you. Pre-op 317 This morning 232
