HELP - IS THIS NORMAL WEIGHT LOSS AT 4 WEEKS?
HELLO,
I AM 4 1/2 WEEKS POST SURGERY AND MY WEIGHT SEEMS TO BE AT A STAND STILL. I STARTED MY DIET BEFORE SURGERY JULY 1, 2005 AT 295. BY THE TIME OF MY SURGERY AUGUST 22, 2005 I HAD LOST 20 POUNDS OR 275. IN THE 2 1/2 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY I HAVE LOST 25 POUNDS MORE 250 BUT NOTHING MORE IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS - IS THIS NORMAL? IS THIS AN AVERAGE WEIGHT LOSS IN THIS LENGTH OF TIME?
PLEASE ADVISE ME AS THIS HAS BEEN A PICTURE PERFET SURGERY AND I HAVE HAD NO THROWING UP OR PROBLEMS WITH MY BOWELS. I EAT ABOUT AN ONCE OF PROTEIN AT EACH MEAL AND NOT A SPOON FULL OF VEGETABLES. I ALSO HAVE 2 PROTEIN SHAKES A DAY.
ANY SUGGESTIONS, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF I AM NORMAL OR BELOW AVERAGE?
SINCERELY,

Hi Donna, are you getting in all your water, walking, working out? Those are very important. Several have platous where they don't lose anything for a week or two, then they start losing again. Best of luck to you. Don't forget to drink your water, work out, and walking. That will help you get back onto the losing side. Kathy
Donna, don't obsess over the scale right now. You are still in recovery mode, which lasts about 6 weeks. So far it sounds like you're doing everything you need to be doing. Everything sounds "normal".
Be sure to get in all your water and start counting protein grams. Follow your doctors recommendation for the amount of protein. Be sure to not drink with your meals. And don't get on the scale more than once per week, you'll drive yourself nuts.
This is a long term process so don't drive yourself crazy just because the scale doesn't move one week. Have you taken your measurements? A lot of time you will still be losing inches even if the scale doesn't reflect a loss.
Hang in there!
