Cost of Chemo pills

Hi everyone, met with my new Oncologist today and I really like her. She put me back on the chemo pills for the leukemia. Get this 30 pills is $3,000 a month. TnCare is only paying for 5 of my medications. It's a good thing I am a Veteran. She gave me a prescription to get filled now, and will fax the information to the VA Hospital in Nashville. I won't have to pay for any medications this way. Three Thousand dollars for just 30 of these pills. That's $36,000 a year. Come January, TnCare will no longer be paying for my meds. I am so proud to be a Veteran. Love ya, Kathy

Isn't that just outragous! The dermatologist put Casey on a new medicine that he has to inject. It was $2700 for eight (8) injections. I almost hit the floor when the pharmacy told me the price. Good thing I was able to get it thru the insurance. Thank goodness for VA. Toni

Hi Toni and thank you. You are looking great. How much have you lost to date? I know when I met you in June, you had only been out 3 months, now that it's been 6 months what are you weighing in at? Keep up the great work. I wish the government would pull a Nixon and put a price freeze on the drugs that are for life threatening problems, so many are dying because they can't afford the medicine they need to stay alive and functioning. Like my Chemo pills, that is outragous and if I couldn't get them thru the VA and I lost my TnCare in January, the disease would progress real fast. I would be a statisic by the governments hands.
