BCBS as employer? Please advise

Has anyone had BCBS as an employer in TN? I have a friend who is interviewing there and wondering if they cover WLS? Any info is greatly appreciated! simply, Cami

I have BCBS insurance the state plan and it pays if it is deemed medically necessary. I found the requirements on their site. Go to their website, enter your plan and then in search put Bariatric Surgery, it will tell you everything you need to

Cami, My husband is retired from TDOT. He is an Engineer worked mainly on bridge and road construction. Began work in 1961. I say all this because I am approved without the 6 months supervised diet that they require. It may be the way the surgeon filled out the papers. I really do not know. I have spoken to others that have BCBS with the state of TN and they are all different. E-mail them and ask for the qualifications. I do know that people in education and government have a different policy than ours although they are covered by BCBS. Don't give up. Gloria
