I had successful gastric bypass on 12/31/2003. lost 130 pounds. look much better. lost hair right after surgery and it grew back CURLY and thick. my only problem is LEG PAIN (thighs). worse at night. I take all vitamins needed. I get moderate exercise. Doctor told me never take ALEVE or IBUPROFEN. but I could take Tylenol. It is not stopping the pain. Anybody know what to do? Thanks for you help.

Hi Kathy, have you tried propping up your knees at night? What about Ben Gay? Have you checked with you PCP about it? Have you had your potassium checked lately, as you may be low in that area? Let's us know what you find out, and congrads on weight loss. Always Here, Kathy

Hey Kathy Sorry to hear that you're having some leg pain Have you told your doctor about this ??. Do you think maybe you might have a pinched nerve somewhere or RLS (restless leg syndrome) ??. I hope you find out what it is and get to feeling better A.S.A.P. Good luck!! Missy Lea

I was having really bad leg pain and my doctor did some bloodwork and found that my potassium was really low. Maybe you should go to your doctor. I've been taking prescription potassium supplements for a while now, and the pain is much less. Connie

Hi Kathy, before your surgery did you have diabeties? Were you on insulin or the pills? I found out in Dec. that I was diabetic. Recently I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy where I have numbness in my foot and right hand. I also have Focal Neuropathy which makes the top of my thighs hurt real bad. I can only say what I have, but ask your Dr. about that, it's nerve damage from being a diabetic. According to what I was reading about it, it's worse at night because we are more relaxed and nothing to distract us. It's more like restless leg syndrome, where our legs can't relax. Mine flares up at least twice a month, but I know what mine is. Sitting in a wheelchair all day, and not being able to walk makes the nerves in my right foot and hand to go numb, and severe pain in my thighs and back. I'm seeing a Neurologist next week about mine. Best of luck, and have it checked. Always, Kathy
