SEVERE HAIRLOSS..help!!??
"Good Afternoon!" It has been a while since I have posted but on the 23rd, I will be 6 mths post-op. Am down 101 lbs.. however, I have been losing my hair in huge globs since before June! It has only gotten worse over these months and I am seriously concerned about losing it all, if it continues the way it is now. I do not even have to comb it for it to fall out..just touch my head.
I have been taking my multi vitamins, tums,b-12, extra biotin and zinc..and still see no improvement. If ANYONE has any suggestions I would be so very greatful! Thank You!
God Bless!

Hi Dawn, honey it's been way too long. That's exciting about the pound loss, but sorry about the hair loss. I can sypathize with you there. I'm losing mine real bad, used to take close to an hour in a towel before I could blow dry as it was so thick now it takes less then 10 minutes. Being a diabetic with bone marrow disease is taking it's toll on my hair. Mom said to just get Rogaine. Like that's going to help when she's nearly bald from being a diabetic. Dr. Colquitt's partner Dr. Ray says that it will grow back within 3 months. I'm not overly crazy about Zinc. My ex took it and he's nearly bald now. Instead of helping him, he lost it more. I've seen women who were bald on top when I have attended the support groups, the last time I was there the same were getting their hair back. This is all apart of having the surgery. It starts at 3 months out thru the 6th month, then it will start coming back in. Be patient my friend, it will start growing back in. I would say in about a month new hair should start growing back in.
I love you, and happy for you, Kathy
Thank You Kathy.
I hope you are right about it coming back in soon cuz it is pretty intense, won't even stay in a barrette anymore.
It sure has been a long time! It has taken me quite some time to begin feeling back to myself but it is happening more each day. How have you been doing? What is the last word about your surgery? I feel out of the loop since I haven't been on here much.
Let me know how you are ok..send me an email.
Love you too.
God Bless!
Dawn

Thank You to you too Katie..good to hear from you..how have you been doing??
I had gastric bypass on new year's eve 2003. felt weak for about 8 weeks until started solid foods. lost almost all of my hair. but after about 2 months it started growing like wildfire and it grew back curly! Just keep doing everything doctor tells you and you will be fine.
Only trouble I've had is severe leg pain in my thighs. Anybody know solution to that? it mostly hurts at night.
Thanks. I just moved to Swee****er, TN 4 months ago.
