Biggest person

Does anyone know how many extremely large people have had the surgery. I am 597lbs. I was wondering if anyone knows of larger people that have had it done and how it went.

One of the people in my support group was 598 lbs with the highest BMI my surgeon had ever operated on. He has done very well and has lost over 300 lbs, works out at the Y almost every day, and leads a very productive life. Our surgeon is Dr. Agbunag at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Hi Dennis, my niece weighed 605 lbs. She's been out for 2.5 years and looks great. She's able to walk now, weighs 179 and still losing. So there is hope for all of us. Love Kathy

Dennis... I was 610 the day after my surgery.... Some doctors won't do surgery on someone that large... I guess I just got really lucky. Talk to you doctor, find the right doctor for you. Becuase at our size, we are a higher risk. -katie
