New pic on profile
Hello, everyone. Life has been so busy lately with work, three kids doing three different sports, and now school starting back.
I also had a disc removed from my neck 6 weeks ago and was in the process of healing from that when my brakes failed 2 weeks ago and I totaled my van in a wreck. The good news is it did not mess up the fusion surgery, it's just delayed the healing process somewhat as I was pretty banged up. I am still using duragesic patches for the severe neck and back pain and am also taking muscle relaxers since the wreck.
I will be 10 mos post-op and have lost a total of 155lbs from my heighest weight last summer and 135lbs from my weight the day before my WLS. I still have some foods I cannot even smell without hurling but I manage to eat a pretty varied diet. I really want to lose another 20-30lbs before my anniversary date 10/19/05.
I will step up and confess that I've been dallying down carbohydrate lane more than I should since the neck surgery. I also have not been cleared yet to do any exercising except walking (which I HATE), so my weight loss is a little stalled.
Mentally I am adjusting to ordering food or fixing my plate more in line to what my pouch will hold and not what I would have eaten prior to surgery. My body image pretty well sucks as the excess skin is such a pain in the butt. I feel like I look pretty good dressed, but lord if me naked wouldn't scare the bravest of souls. I did add a new pic to my profile which the hubby took tonite before we went out.
Well, the hubby is griping to go to bed, so I will sign off for now. May you all be most well and safe and good luck to those pre-ops out there.

Hi Kelly, If I was your husband, I'd be griping to get to bed too. My friend, you are looking sooooooooo good. I am really shocked at the difference. As my 3 yr old grandson would say, she hot. He says that about every pretty girl or woman he sees. My son is teaching him well. So sorry to hear that you had to have neck surgery then totaled your van. I do pray you you will heal without any further problems. May God be with you during this time and the days to come. Love Kathy
