New to this

hello all...my name is Sharon and I have registered and have an appointment with Dr. Ray in Maryville in the morning at 10:00am. I am so excited that I can't stand it. I know that I am in for a long road but this is at least one step futher than I've ever been. Anyone on here ever used Dr. Ray / Dr. Colquitt ?

Hi Sharon, Welcome to the WLS community!! While I don't have a surgery date yet (still waiting on insurance approval) I started my WLS journey in March. I know several people who have used Dr. Ray / Dr. Colquitt and have been very pleased. Myself, after several soul searching months I chose to go with Dr. Boyce, however I did attend a support meeting at Blount and have to say that Angie the dietician is AWESOME!

Hi Sharon and welcome to the greatest board. I see Dr. Colquitt next Wednesday. I'm attending the support group at blount tomorrow evening. I don't need prior approval as I have Medicare, and I know how you feel about excited. I know everyone that has had either of the two have all had positive things to say. Thanks so much Kathy and Rachell for your support. Went to the first doctor visit with Dr. Ray today and I am just crazy about him. I am going for all the usual testing and then , of course, they will submit everything to the insurance company for approval. I know it is gonna be a long road...but hey...at least the ball is rolling. Can anybody tell me how to get my picture on my post? I've have looked and looked and can't figure it out.

Hi Sharon, I'm a few days late with this post but been kinda busy this last few days. I did see later that you had already went to your appointment. I'm Dr. Colquitt's patient and I will be having surgery on Tuesday Aug. 23rd and I love the Dr.'s there as well as the staff. Everyone is so nice there and don't mind to help and answer questions if one can't answer they find one that can. The support groups are wonderful you learn so much the gastric by-pass group is every 2nd Thursday of each month but you probably already know that and as mentioned by someone else you will love Angie she is great. I was having a problem with my pre-op weight loss and I called her she was so willing to help took time to explain things to me was not in a hurry to get off the phone with me and I really liked that.
