plastic surgery
Derrick, I'm still pre-op myself, but from what I've read the drs. want you to be at goal for a little while before you have plastic surgery. Most of those I've read about have waited a year and a half to 2 yrs.
As fast as they are kicking us off TennCare, you'll have to really hurry.
Good Luck
Billie
Hi Derrick, been a long time. I agree with Billie. I even called some plastic surgeons and they all said the same thing, not until you've been post op for at least a year. Your weight will flucuate until then. I wish you the best. I checked with three out of Knoxville. Two don't except Tn/care, the third would take medicare, but not tncare either. He said most plastic surgeons don't. But don't give up, you may find one out there.
always, Kathy
Derrick,
Dr. Smith in Oak Ridge takes TennCare. Here is his website: http://www.gesmithmd.com/ and his phone number is: (865) 483-2299 Good luck to you, and remember to fight the TennCare all you can so you can keep it as long as possible.
Derrick,
My doctor did my plastic surgery when I was 9 months post-op...but only because I had a huge hernia that needed to be repaired and I was within 25 lbs. of my goal. I told him I wasn't going to have another surgery and asked him if he could go ahead and do my tummy tuck while he was repairing my hernia...he obliged!
Hugs,
Terri (past goal)
