I am so sorry that you are going through this. I know you was looking foward to this surgery but I am thinking God has something else in mind for you. You have been such a great support for me and everyone on this board. A fellow co-worker of mine has this disease and it can be beat so do not give up! She does go through a lot and and is raising her grandchildren, and working two jobs. I do not see how she does it. Just keep posting those quotes on here. Love ya, Lisa 279/156/150

Dear Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear about this. I often wonder why bad things seem to happen to good people, but I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't understand why at the time. God has a plan for each and everyone of us and I know God has a plan for you. You are such a great person and have been such a support to all of us here on OH. You genuinely seem to care about each and every one of us and are always willing to offer an encouraging word. Now it is time for you to sit back and take care of YOU and let us offer the words of encouragement to you. You will beat this. God doesn't give us anything that we can't handle. You are a strong person and this will only make you stronger. You have many friends here on OH. If you need anything, even just someone to listen, please know that I am here for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong Kathy. Feel free to email me anytime. God Bless. Tammy

Thank you Tammy and all my friends. I will always be here for each of you. I do need to know if my siblings are not a match for bone marrow transplant, if there is a universal donor? I am A- blood type. I may need an outside donor. I will let y'll know for sure if I will be able to have a transplant. Thank each of you for your support. Love Kathy

Have you heard anything yet about donors? Do let us know because you have friends here on this board that you probably don't even know you have.

Kathy, Six years ago I had just been approved for WLS in Bristol when I was diagnosed with cancer. Naturally I postponed the surgery and moved into my cancer journey. Next month - August 2005 - I will be officially called a cancer survivor and can look into surgery again. During my 5 year vacation from WLS things have changed and improved significently. Please don't look at your diagnosis and give up. You too can be a survivor. The road ahead may be difficult at times, but you can do it. I did. Stay strong and believe. JAN
