Well, I can't believe the date is almost here. I will be going in to surgery bright and early on Tuesday morning. I scheduled this surgery six months ago. I've been completely at peace with the decision all this time. However, now that the date is quickly approaching, I'm completely wrought with anxiety. Somebody tell me that my nerves are normal. I feel like crying, screaming, and puking all at the same time! Thanks, Marian

I think if you didn't feel that way, you wouldn't be normal! I felt the same way. In fact, I told my husband to take me home the morning of surgery when we arrived at the hospital. It was purely nerves talking, and I'm thankful he didn't listen. At first, you'll wonder what the heck you did, but once you are feeling better, you'll be on top of the world! Take care, Ashleigh 251/214.5/140ish

Hi Marian, first off keep the fingers out of your mouth, too many germs, that's just as bad as the hand to mouth habit whether it's smoking, eating, biting nails. If you weren't normal, you wouldn't be having this surgery on Tuesday. I think we would all worry if you weren't normal. It's just nerves and emotions. They are a part of you. This is a great weekend. Our country will be 226 years old on Monday. Go out and have fun and just don't think about Tuesday. Buy some fireworks and sit back and watch them go up. But first do us a favor, stop and take a deep cleansing breathe before you fall apart. Take several if necessary just don't hyperventilate. Practice deep breathing, it will help your lungs after the surgery, and it will also help you relax. Just remember this is your last 4th of July as an obese female, one who is very beautiful and has a great new life to look forward to. You can do, I know it, so does the rest of the board. We're here for you no matter what. By the way, who's doing your surgery and at what hospital? May God be with you on the rest of your journey. Kathy

Marian, We talked one time, and I thought your date must be coming up soon. I had my surgery the 16th of June, and I tell you that I felt very sure up to the point of walking into the hospital. That is not to imply that the nerves were no going crazy. You are very normal! I can tell you that I had RNY on Thursday, took pain meds for a head ache Friday night, and came home on Saturday. I have had a wonderful experience with this and I hope yours is the same. Enjoy the 4th and the new independance you are about to be given. Michelle down 17 days and 20 pounds
