I have BC/BS and had surgery in April and was approved in Feb. don't listen. Until you get a letter rejecting you.....fight the good fight.

^^ What Bryna said. The only people guaranteed not to get approved are the ones that don't try. Best of luck to you!

I am BCBS of TN. Both my husband and I are having RNY surgery in the next month. They covered all except some Drs fees!

thanks ya'll! i was planning on trying anyway, it's good to hear that some on bcbs are getting approvals. I guess to some degree I dont want to apply because I'm afraid of getting my hopes up, then they'll reject my claim, I went to the sem. at Cenntinial, they all seemed very helpful. The only thing left to do now, is start the process

Don't stop fighting, denials letters are always appealed, your surgeons office will help you appeal BCBS. If you don't give up, they won't give up on you. Best of luck to you, kathy

I had my surgery in 2002, and BCBS Of TN paid, but when I got my new policy this year, there was an exclusion. I was saddened to see it. Still I would try.
