I am approved!! only problem is ...I may get cut off TennCare before I can get the surgery!! Do I have BAD timing or what Billie

As long as you don't have TC Standard you should be ok (key word=should) Either way congrats to you!

Hey Billie, congrads on getting approved. Have you received your brown envelope yet? If you do, be sure to appeal within the 20 days allowed, that gives you an extra 40 days waiting on the appeal. Hopefully, your surgeon will get you in asap. Hope everything works out for you. Love, Kathy

Thanks Kathy, I'm going to do alll the required paperwork to delay getting dropped as long as I can.....I hate to get this close and lose the chance..again...I had a date back in 1976 and at that time your husband had to consent...mine did and then 2 weeks before surgery he changed his mind. I didn't have surgery,even after begging the surgeon. Oh well,I will do what I have to do !! Take care, Billie

Billie, Congratulations on your approval!!! But, don't give up! Appeal, appeal, appeal! Do u qualify for TN Care medicaid? Have u had all of your pre-op tests/all the stuff they require b4 surgery? If so, maybe your surgeon can hurry up and get u in b4 u lose your TN Care coverage. Maybe if u explain to them they will accomodate. Afterall, they want to do the surgeries so they can get paid! Be persistant. The brown pages are due to DHS by July 6th and then if they notify u that u don't qualify for TN Care medicaid and will lose your coverage, then u can appeal that decision and gain another 20 days. If u appeal within the allotted timeframe, u will keep your coverage while your in appeal. So I say, just keep appealing their decisions and hopefully that will buy u enuf time to have your surgery. Hi Billie, I am so happy you got approved!!! Now all we need to hear is that you have a surgery date!!! I too have TNCARE but not standard, I am sure you will be fine unless you get the envelope saying you fill and return. I will keep you in my prayers. I had my surgery May 31st 2005 I can tell you it is a awesome way to lose weight and get healthy. I cant wait for you to be joining all of us on the train of weight loss!!!
