TN RESIDENTS WRITE LETTERS TO YOUR SENATE-THEY ARE TRYING TO PASS A NEW LAW

HI, FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO SAY THAT I AM NOT DUE CREDIT FOR FINDING THIS INFORMATION, BUT I DO WANT TO PASS ON WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT TO OTHERS THAT HAVENT COME ACROSS THE POSTS THAT I HAVE... OUR STATE LEGISLATURE HAS A NEW LAW THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO GET PASSED. I COPIED AND PASTED SO HERE IT IS: 1. Bill information for SB0786 Abstract: Insurance, Health, Accident - Requires health insurers to offer coverage for bariatric surgery for the treatment of morbid obesity. - Amends TCA Title 56, Chapter 7, Part 26. 2. SO I WILL SAY TO YOU AS THE POST READ THAT I CAME ACROSS , WRITE LETTERS!!! GIVE THEM NAMES AND FACES , SEND PICTURES, THE MORE THEY RECEIVE THE BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING THIS LAW INTO ACTION. Puts an end to the "exclusion" clauses so many health insurance companies have for WLS. I highly recommend everyone write their state congressmen. Okay, BUT....Does this mean that the companies we work for would have to remove the exclusion if they have one???? BCBS of TN will cover the DS but the company my hubby works for has an exclusion for WLS in their policy. PLEASE tell me they will so I can have this surgery and save my life!!!!

hi, as far as employers taking the exclusion out in 2006, if the law passes they will have to I assume? I mean I dont know but if all insurance co. are subject to the law, which they are, then I am guessing for Tn. residents they would have to, and the surgery would be covered. I really dont know a whole lot about the situation, I just wanted to pass on what I had read. You can go to your search engine and type in tn state legislation, and see what you can find out.
