Halfway to Century Mark!
Just wanted to share my wonderful news -- as of yesterday, I am down 51 lbs from day of surgery! That's 51 lbs gone in just 6 (almost 7) weeks! I still have about 125 - 150 lbs to go, but I know I can do it.
For anyone considering surgery but not quite convinced, trust me, it IS worth it!
Already, I have/can: no more GERD!, better energy, better skin, feel better about myself, more clothing that will fit me, more money for other things than groceries!, no dandruff and loads more improvements to my life! Having the weight gone means no more saying, "sorry, kids, mommy just doesn't feel like taking you swimming" We go swimming ALL the time, now. Who cares if I am still fat, I am shrinking, and the swimming helps!

PS -- I enjoyed reading your profile. It was very informative. Does your fiance still work at Dell and do you happen to know if they are hiring? My DH used to work at Dell P/T through a temp agency but quit before being hired F/T. He is currently looking for a 2nd job and I figure if he can get hired there and maybe get their insurance, then I might be able to have WLS through their insurance (mine, BCBS, has an exclusion).
Thanks, both of you!
Tammy, my husband (we got married last year for insurance purposes) was fired from Dell because when my father died, his boss was told that we would have to get my brother out of Kuwait and did not know how quickly we could have the funeral, he also was aware that Tim (hubby) was closer to my dad than his own & Tim's boss told him "don't worry about it, take as much leave as you need" Needless to say, when hubby returned to work after taking 8 days off, he was given his pink slip. Dell has an employer exclusion anyway -- and since they are self-funded, they very much could have allowed it, but chose to deny that they even had any exclusions and refused to speak to me at ALL!
My husband works for the Gap distribution center now. They are the insurance that has paid for my surgery. While they are not the best employer on the planet, the benefits are awesome. I don't think they are hiring right now, but you could always check it out -- they usually hire right before school starts back.
Janella, good luck on your surgery tomorrow. Don't sweat it, let the doctor do what he/she is good at and make it better! See ya on the losing side!
