Losing enough?

I know I'm really being silly by asking this, but I can't help it! I've noticed that a lot of people who had surgery around the time I did, have dropped a lot more weight than I have! While I'm thrilled to death for them, I'm a little discouraged. I've lost 8 lbs since my surgery, and can't tell it at all. I'm getting in all of my protein through either pureed food or shakes, and drinking at least 64 ounces of water, but usually it's more like 80 ounces. I guess I just need a little encouragement that this surgery is going to work and I'll lose the weight I need to! thanks for listening! Take care! Ashleigh 251/242/140 (sorry for the cross-posting)

Ashleigh what kind of surgery did you have? I haven't had the surgery yet but if the doctor thinks your doing ok I wouldn't worry. Keep postive and you'll make it.

I had Laproscopic RNY. I think I know why I haven't lost so much. I've not been as active as I should be, and I think that plays a big part in it. Thanks for your support! You guys are awesome! Take care, Ashleigh 251/242/140

Hi Ashleigh, I haven't had the surgery, but each person's body is different. While in the hospital you will put on some extra due to the IV fluids. Don't give up, it will come off. In about a month, you will really notice it. Don't get discourage, just keep getting in your protein and water, walk and it will come off. May God guide you on your journey. Always, Kathy

goodness miss ashleigh, you are less than 2 weeks out.....you are doing great! i don't know how much water your doctor would like you to get in, but 80 oz. sounds like an awful lot. my doctor says between 32 and 64 oz. a day and i normally get in the 32 oz. it's hard with a small tummy now to drink so much and i am 3 mos. out and have lost 68 lbs! that just thrills me!!! i know we had two different surgeries and your pouch is smaller than my tummy (yours 1 oz. and mine 4 oz.) when i was going to LA weight loss two years ago, i was drinking like 80 oz. of water at one point and the weight wasn't coming off and they told me i was drinking too much water so i cut back to the 64 oz. and it started coming off again. anyways i don't if that will hel*****t but it did sound like a lot of water. you are doing great and don't stress about it and like kathy said everyone's body is different so just keep that in mind. piper 330/262/150
