New TN law to cover WLS beginning JANUARY 2006!!!!!

Hi Sandy, I sure wish I could offer you better news, but unfortunately, our Legislature let the WLS bill slip between the cracks this past session and they did not sign the bill into a law. However, on a positive note, they also did not deny it either, they just didn't get to it this past session. So, hopefully they will get to it next session and I think that's in January. I don't know if there is a summer session or not. Everyone has been telling me to write to our state reps to ask for their support for this bill to make sure it is not overlooked again next session. (You can follow the progress on this bill by looking at the TN state legislature webpage). But, on a personal note, I can and do relate to how you're feeling. I too was devastated when I learned about my insurance exclusion to WLS and again when I learned that this bill was not signed into law last session. My advice to you is to wait and look at your insurance options in September and maybe you can choose another policy that will cover WLS. And write letters to your state reps asking them to please pass this bill into a law. Hope that helps. Please feel free to email me anytime. Tammy
