I am on the LOOOOOOsing side!!!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!!! I came through surgery without a hitch. I have to go to Dr. Houston's for some bloodwork today because of a bloody stool but I believe all will be well. I have not had that much pain and what I have had has been manageable, no nausea, no vomiting and no rejection of protein drink!! PLUS...I have been able to get all of my fluids and protein in on Wednesday and Thursday without trouble drinking!! The main problem has been lack of energy. I have not had the energy I had before the surgery and so it has been a real mental battle for me to overcome the fact that I cannot do all the things I did only 5 days ago. I know I will soon and that is a hope I cling to. I have had major surgery- what was I really expecting?? Thanks to my Piper and to everyone at OH for the prayers, well wishes and posts. It is such a blessing to have you all on my side. For those who are pre-op- Pray, prepare, and pray some more and you will be in great shape!! I know this is the best decision I have made in my life besides marrying my DH!! The Anchor Holds!! Bryna

Hey Bryna I know exactly where you are comming from with the lack of energy. With me it lasted a cpl months post op. I just had to remind myself why I did what I did and force myself to get up and move. Its not going to be an easy road but its well worth it. I personally had times within the first four months when I wondered what the heck had I done to myself. But I was reminded as to the what and why constantly. The benefit is wonderful. To me the most wonderful words I heard came the summer after I had my surgery. I took my nephew to an amusement park and he told me "auntie wait up" I about burst into tears. For the first time he and I were out somewhere and he didn't have to wait on me because my legs were tired or I was out of breath. Of course it was during this trip that he and I got to go on rides together for the first time. Ive raised him since he was born and he will be 8 next month and this was the first time I was able to ride rides with him. It was such a wonderful feeling. So just hang in there and remember we have been there and anytime you want to talk or discuss something we are right here for ya. *huggles* Dixie

Thanks Dixie!! I don't want anyone to think I am a wimp or anything but I was actually VERY active for 310 lbs. before the surgery so now one week later and at 298 (YEA!!!!!) I could not keep up with my mother in the mall the day after I was sent home from the hospital, it was just a little disheartening. I am feeling better though. Evidently, I had a lot of internal bleeding when I had my surgery and as a result, I am passing everything now and it is taking a lot more out of me. Dr. Houston says it is not completely normal but he believes I will be fine and he is not so worried. I on the other hand have a cow everytime I go potty!! It is not normal for me so I worry!!! sorry so icky Bryna
