Psych Evaluation

Is there one in the Memphis area that has visited a doctor for the psych eval that is required before surgery. I need to find a doctor so I can get that part so I can get approved for the surgery. Melissa (Lisa) Boles

HI melissa, I had my psych eval done here in Memphis. unfortunately I had to pay up front on him as he has had alot of trouble collecting from Ins companies. If you want his nae I can get it for you. whonis doing your surgery? usually the surgeons office will reccomend a Psych they use and trust. My Surgeon was Dr. Virginia McGrath Weaver, and I highly recommend them along with the ST. francis weight loss center. good luck.

Hi Joe, I am going thru Dr. Woodman at Baptist East. I have only had one visit so far because I have to be on a 6 mo supervised diet due to my insurance. The office did recommend a doctor but she is not on my insurance. I have heard alot of good about Dr. Weaver and I was looking into her doing my surgery but she was not covered by my insurance. I would like his name in case I can't find someone to take my insurance. Melissa

Hey. My surgeon is Dr. Tichansky with the UT Medical Group. I just had my psych consult today. Had to wait three weeks for the apt after my consult with the surgeon. It only lasted 15-20 min. Very easy and quick. Her name is Dr. Coday. If you need more info about her, just let me know - [email protected] - BTW, I highly suggest the surgeon (he's not foreign). He and Dr. Madan (also with UT Medical Group) are both members of The American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) AND have excellent bedside manners (unlike the other local surgeons).
