Pre-Op
Congrads Tom on getting your surgery date. That's great news. Who's doing your surgery and what hospital? I plan on being in Antioch around that time visiting my son and his family. If the timing works out, I would love to come by and see how you are doing. You just think positive thoughts, and how you will feel after getting that extra weight off. I am still in the pre-op position, trying to find a surgeon who will take a chance with me. I'm a real high risk. So when someone else gets their date, my joy comes from knowing at least someone else is getting their dream come off. You just keep good thoughts, remember this site has a lot of wonderful supporters, friends, and a lot of prayers going out for you.
You can email me at anytime. May God watch over you, Kathy
Congrats Tom!
Pearls of wisdom... huh?
Well... My early days of post-op were so long ago, that I don't remember it very well... However, I do suggest you pick up some of the liquid stage foods before heading in to surgery because you won't want to go to the store when you get home. Trust me!
Ohh... have one of your favorite meals before surgery -- Sicne your a guy, I'm guessing a huge steak and baked potatoe.. huh?
Another thing... gather phone numbers and a phone card to use at the hospital, incase you want to make any phone calls.
Pick up some hard sugar-free candy, it may help change the taste in your mouth... it'll be quite icky for about a month or so.
Oh yeah... Drink water, lots of water. Try some of the new flavored non-carbinated waters. Very good and gives you a change of taste...
Hope this helps a bit!
Good Luck, and I wish you a speedy recovery!
