Hey everyone..not sure if any of you will ever remember me..but I was denied by my insurance company.. John Deere Select..back in early January..and it totally devasted me...then..I got the flu..which turned into bronchial pneumonia...was prescribed steroids and antibiotics..got a HORRIBLE reaction to the meds..was taken, by ambulance, to the hospital..was there for 16 days!!! Anyway..I am now in the so called appeal process for myself(having exhausted the physician appeal thing)..I cannot even tell you all, *****ad these posts, what a bummer this whole thing has been! Surely, I will finally be approved for this surgery!! It really, really is my ONLY hope at this point in my life..(age 60)..I would venture to say, I have lost close to 900+ pounds over the years..Please..if anyone out there has been through this "denial process"..PLEASE write back to me! Thank you for the support from people that initially answered my pleas back in January!! I just feel desperate at this point... THANK YOU!!!! Kathy

Kathy- I went through the liv-lite program. liv-lite.com Maybe if you can't get through have them help you! They did everything for me! All I had to do is just go the the appointments! I will pray for you! ~April~ May 13, 2005 surgery scheduled!

Hi Kathy, I remember you. I am sorry that you have to go thru the appeal part, but it's normal. Just hang in there. Check out the site that April recommended. It just may be the answer you need. I am still in the surgeon denial. I'm on Dr. 12 now, if I can go thru all these disappointments, I know you can hang in there and fight the insurance company. Most insurance companies automatically send out a denial. Then the appeal goes right thru. They are seeing how serious you are about having the procedure done. They don't want to waste their money on the bills if you aren't going to do your part. Don't give up, but fight for your right to have the surgery. I know you can do it. Always with a hug, Kathy

KATHY, You never explained in your posting "why" John Deere has denied you? I have the exact same insurance and would be interested in knowing why they denied you as I am about to submit for approval from them. I feel I have met all their criteria, but one never knows! What was their reason for denying your initial request? thanks, JOE P.
