Hey all, I'm nearly three years out from my DS. I've lost 194 pounds and have remained within ten pounds of goal for the past two years or so. I am moving from Oregon to Memphis at the end of May, and the day I move will be my first day ever to be in the state! I have thus far been very blessed with a pcp that is very knowledgeable and open to hearing my research and opinions as well. I'm hoping someone in the Memphis or Millington area has had a good experience with their pcp and would recommend them to me. I have Tricare and Aetna insurance, if that info. helps any. Thanks in advance for any responses. Looking forward to being a part of your state soon! Tara H

Welcome to memphis, I use Dr. Lunceford and have been very happy with his office. mainly I prefer the PA richard Greene who is always very helpful with any concerns I have and was more than supportive of my surgery.

pre-Welcome to Memphis! I've lived almost here all my life, so I've been to quite a few doctors and I have found a wonderful PCP group now. My actual doctor is Martin T. Miller, and he is in the Internal Medicine Assoc. of Cordova (which is just an area in East Memphis). They are awesome, and they also have a nurse practioner so, when you can't get into your doctor you can still see someone in their office. They are also very good about calling back when you have to leave a message for your doctor or his/her nurse. They are also very supportive of obesity surgery and other assistance with weight management. (you can even get your medicine in their office instead of going to walgreens of other outside pharmacy) My mother, and sister also go to this medical group. I'd be glad to give you their address and phone number if you like. Send me an email if your interested. If you need a tour guide when you get here, give me a shout, I would love to show you around! See ya in Memphis soon! Shelley ([email protected])

I live in the Millington area and I really like the May Medical Group in Munford. They have lots of Dr's and Nurse Practiononers so if you don't like one, you can always try another. They are also open on Saturdays and Sundays. I prefer Ms. Gatlin a nurse practioner. She is really great, and so compassionate. I have BCBS of TN PPO.

Hi Tara, Welcome to TN!! I live in Millington and love it!! If you need a PCP, I would recommend mine. It is Dr. Craig at Brighton Family Medical in Brighton, Tn. It is only 15 mins from Millington on Hwy 51. He is a very caring doctor. He will actually sit down and spend time with you. His office staff and his nurse, Charlotte, are very nice and helpful! If you decide to move to Millington (or Memphis) let me know! I will try to show you around town. Melissa
