Hello friends, as you know I am about a week post-op..have been in alot of pain, but in spite of it I am walking and drinking and doing as much protien as I can get in..however this is my concern..I can easily drink or eat for example 4oz of sf pudding at a time and still feel hungry.. this worries me ALOT! Is this normal?? I know I am not to move to pureed until my appt with the surgeon, but I wonder how to handle this.. I am so hungry and am so scared of messing this up! ANYONE if you can offer advice please do! I am desperate! Dawn (have gone down 20lbs, mostly fluid i am sure, so far..if only counting wt from surgery day when I signed in, only 4 lbs!)

Hon, first of all calm down, this is very normal, alot of it is head hunger and will surpass, but my Dr told me that you can feel this way up until the suture line heals and I remember quite well being afraid I could consume more than I should be able to, then about 6 wks out is when I dumped for the 1st time and that was when I became intolerable to several things, this is also when I first started feeling full. You are completely normal and things WILL get easier. Rebecca

Rebecca, THANK YOU so much for responding to my short term insanity. I know you are right, I just had a rough day and got panicked. I really thought about what I was eating/drinking and truth is, most of it was liquids and nothing much that really settles for long in my new tummy so who would feel satisfied that way..I had tried many many protien powders and just had not found any that I could handle taste wise but knew how important this was so kept looking and finally received my order today and have found the one for me. It is a liquid amino infusion protien (fruit punch flavor) and it is 10gm protein per Tbsp so I will take 6 Tbsp per day throughout my day with my water and I will have the protein in. I will try different jellos and broths for variety.. I know the payoff will be worth the few tough weeks I am facing now. so THANK YOU again!! God Bless!! BTW, you look absolutely awesome in your profile pics! Dawn
