Hi Kristie, try the tasteless protein powder with water, put in soups, on hot cereals. I'm sorry I can't help you out any more then that, I am thrilled that you have lost that much. I won't be able to have the surgery, and although I have fought a strong battle, I have to accept the fact that I am not meant to have the surgery. So please lose the weight and keep fighting to do everything you can to get in the protein, water, for me. Love ya, Kathy

hmm don't think of yourself as a failure, because the whole eating process in the first 6 months is really hard to get use too. However, my question is -- What are you eating right now? I was still on soft foods this early out but I guess each doctor is different. Seeing I don't know your menu... My suggestion would be to just eat the protein type foods, whether it's chicken, turkey, beans, yogurt, cottage cheese and etc. Try to stay away from anything thats carbs or veggies. Just stick to the protein for now and see if that helps you. Plus, the protein type foods should fill you up much faster then anything else. My doctor also said, Even at a year out... Eat the 4 oz and walk away from the table before you nibble on more food. Another thing, if water isn't getting it for you -- Try some sugar-free kool-aid, or make kool-aid with splenda, or try the new Light Hawaiian punch, or Light Lemonade.... Something with a flavor. It may help to get the water in!

Hi Kristie, don't ever consider yourself a failure! 40 pounds lost is great! I went to my Dr. and lost 40 pounds in two months. My Dr. said I should have lost about 7 more pounds. I guess at two months he thinks a person should lose 44 pounds. I am satisfied with my loss though. I had trouble with chewing and eating too fast. This process takes a little getting used to. I would usually eat on the run and eat fast. Chew, chew, chew, I am finally learning that. I think everyone has a bit of a problem with the protein and water thing. GNC has a protein drink that is fruity, I can't remember the name of it, but it is already mixed and is in a bottle. It is a little expensive, about $3.50 a bottle, but it may help you get through a few days until you can get the protein from meat. I try and take a drink of water everytime I go past the kitchen sink. I just fill a juice glass with water and drink it down. 4 oz at a time doesn't seem like much but it does add up during the day. I can look at 4 oz. much better than 8 oz at a time. Hang in there, you are doing great! And remember you are not a failure! Love and prayers, Becky

Hi Krisit, Honey your not a failure. The best thing to do is don't weigh yourself. Let the doctors do that and still you will probably see a difference in scales at the doc and at the dietican. Stick with what your suppose to eat. If I got a little hungery before meal time I would have a half fruit with a little peanut butter and then get out of the house for a while. You will probably be shocked when your doc weighs you again. Are you excercising? I joined curves because due to a heart problem I can't walk when it's really cold and I love curves. Now the weather is better and I can walk again. I do think it helps with wanting to over eat. Remember you can only hold so much and you don't want to get in trouble with your health. Call your dietican and talk to him/her about how your doing. Stay away from the scales and just stick with what you have to read about the foods you can have and the amounts. I know with me, alot of the time, the urge to eat was in my head. I couldn't hold more than I was suppose to and I still can't. I had my surgery at vAnderbilt on Dec, 6th and I'm down 65 lbs. Hang in there and I think your doing normal and great!! Hugs, Lana
