Dr. Birkitt patients

HI!!!! I would like to speak to someone who has recently had surgery by Dr. Birkitt in Bristol, TN. I have heard good comments about him but would still like to hear from different people. I didn't have him, but I did contact his office. Last July he had a back log of 6 months, just to get an appointment. Call and see if things have changed. Good luck on your journey. I never come on the Tn board and just decided to toaday and saw your post I did not have Dr Birkitt I had Dr Watson in JC but I have SEVERAL friends who have had their surgery by DR Birkitt, and was very successful, also I am a nurse and back when I did my clinical rotations in nursing school had the pleasure of working with DR Birkitt in th OR, not with bariatric surgery but with other surgeons, Dr Birkitt only does OPEN RNY he does not do the procedure laproscopically which is why I chose DR Watson instead but I would have total confidence in Dr Birkett doing my procedure. email me if you have quesions or want to talk Rebecca -100lbs

Hi Donna I am going tomorrow which is Friday to get my surgery date. I am a patient of Dr.Birkitt's. I was placed on the waiting list in April of 2004. My first visit with him was in September. You may be able to get in sooner...I don't know. Everyone says he is the best next to Dr.Husted. That is why he has such a long waiting list. I have a friend who has had surgery with him.
