9 months post op!
Hi TN OH family! Sorry I haven't been on here more. This dialup out here in the country gets the best of me and deters me from getting online. Anyway, i'm 9 months post op as of yesterday and am now weighing 138 lbs. I've lost 109 lbs and have just 7 more to lose. I'm wearing size 4 pants!!! My breasts finally shrank down from DD to C cups and its wonderful! Dr. Houston gave me a list of plastic surgeons so I guess i'll be looking into that part of the journey very soon. I hope you're all healthy, happy, and doing wonderfully! God bless!!! Oooh, almost forgot... I have a new face!

Hi Melanie, you look great. But then so did your other picture. You'll be at my goal soon. My Dr.'s looking at the end of March for my surgery. I can't wait. How have you been lately? How's the leg doing? It was your leg right that you had to have surgery on? I leave for West Virginia on Monday the 7th to start my journey with this surgeon. I see him on the 8th, have lab work, chest x-ray, psych eval and the nutrionist all within 2 days. Then come back two weeks later to get registered. It's hard to believe that it's coming to a head and so quick. Keep us posted when you make your goal. Love ya, Kathy
WOW, Kathy, you sound busy hon! I'm so glad things are chugging right along for you. This has been a real ordeal for you and i'm always thinking about you. I wish you a safe trip. The end of March will be here very quickly. Yep, it was my right knee I had surgery on. I'm still struggling with it since having to leave therapy. If you recall, my job fired me when I was unable to return to work after only 1 week of recovery from the knee surgery. The physical therapist I had wasnt aggressive and allowed me to fall 2 weeks behind in recovery. So the surgeon referred me to a new therapist who was terrific. But then the new year started, my deductible started over, and they wanted me to pay $250 up front before they'd give me a next appointment. Well hell I hadnt worked in 3 months, I didnt have that kind of money to throw out there. So i've just been doing the therapy at home. I called my surgeon two weeks ago to ask about the amount of pain I still have when bending the knee and all the popping. His nurse called me back finally yesterday and said, and I quote, "Dr. Bruno said if he knew you werent going to do therapy he never would have done the surgery". I was furious. I told her flat out that was a snotty thing to say, and that had I known i'd lose my job i'd have never had the surgery either. That was extinuating cir****tances that couldnt have been foreseen and to throw it in my face really pissed me off. *DEEP BREATH* Anyway......
Thanks so much for your kind words. I look in the mirror and just cant believe its me i'm looking at. Buying size 4 jeans just put me over the top lol. I'm going to start researching plastic surgeons in the Nashville area. Good Lord willing my insurance will hopefully cover something. God bless ya sweetie, keep in touch!
Love ya!

Hiya Bryna, and thanks so much!! CONGRATULATIONS on your approval!!! I did have my surgery at Centennial and its a fantastic hospital. The rooms are very big and nice. It was very clean. They gave me everything I needed. One word of advice though, when they start pushing the popcicles, be sure you remind them you have to have SUGAR FREE ones. My last day in the hospital a nurse gave me my medications crushed up in a regular popcicle and I dumped like you wouldnt believe. I have never felt so sick in my life. Needless to say i've not touched a grain of sugar since. As for Dr. Houston.... what can I say.... I love the man. He has been so nice to me from day one and always spends lots of time in the exam room with me when I go back for my visits. When I went last week he pulled up my pre op picture on his little computer and showed me just how much i've changed. That photo was disturbing lol. Hes a terrific surgeon and a very nice man. You'll be very happy with him. Holly is wonderful too. A very sweet lady. Please feel free to contact me any time! I'm happy to help in any way I can. God bless and best of luck to you. Keep us posted on your surgery date.
Hugs!
Melanie
