anyone in Memphis with Aetna State of Tennessee HMO insurance?

I would like to talk to someone who has been thru some of this that has Aetna HMO, preferably that works for the State of Tennessee. I'm just wondering what your experience has been so far. Do you have any suggestions, do's or don'ts? The surgeons office has all my paper work and am trying to put off as long as I can, calling them for an update on the status. I'd love to hear from you. HI deb, sorry I am not much help though I work for the State of Tenn. I switched my insurance to BCBS blue to get my surgery. I had a lot of troble i the begining but eventuallywith hard work and patience everything worked out. I hope all goes well with you. keep fighting the good fight and just remember that patience and perserverance are the keys to getting approved.

Thanks, anyway. I fully intend to do all I can, I have to. I talked to my surgeon's office today after providing them with all that was requested on last Friday. I was told that it was sent off to the the ins on 2/2/05. So now, I wait.....

Hiya Deborah! I work for the State of Tennessee in Nashville. I do have Aetna HMO. I've had my wls in July of 2004 and just had on March 29, a hernia repair and tummy tuck. I do know that you will need to go to Aetna's site and print off the (I think it is cb157) and do exactly what it says! I was denied by Aetna at first and when I did exactly what that bulletin said to do...they reversed my denial within 1 week. They do like to make you jump thru the hoops. But do EXACTLY what they ask and you'll get APPROVED! Hugs, Terri 305/159/?? -146 4 lbs. til goal
