Nashville?!!
So you don't miss Arizona? I've lived here all my life. My aunt moved out of state several times but always moved back. Selling my house and moving would be a huge step for me. Have been thinking about it though as my daughter needs me to help her with her children and, like she said, she won't know anybody there. Thanks for your response.
Sometimes I miss Arizona, I mean I was raised there and have a lot of childhood memories. I also have a twin sister that lives there and I would love to live closer to her and her family. I miss the winter time and freezing to death when it gets down to 60 degrees! haha! I miss the fact that Arizona is one of the smart states that doesn't go on or off daylight savings.
I can give positives and negatives about Phoenix and Nashville. Nashville is now my home and I love it here, but it wouldn't kill me if someone told me I had to move back to AZ.
Ok, I am gonna play the devil's advocate here and tell you what is wrong with Nashville since everyone else sung its praises. Don't get me wrong, I love Tennessee and have moved back home twice; once after living in California for 10 mos and once after moving to Washington state. It's a beautiful place and the folks are friendly, but as with any big city, traffic sucks during rush hour. People do NOT know how to drive in less than perfect weather (i.e. rain or snow). Vanderbilt is a wonderful Children's Hospital, but beware that it is a clinic system and you'll wait and wait and wait to get seen. And last but not least, I wouldn't let my dog go to school in Davidson County (Nashville) as they like to bus the inner city project kids out to area schools and send outside area kids downtown. My ex and I moved out of Nashville into the next county when our oldest child was old enough to go to school. My kids get an awesome education but I am close enough to work in Nashville and take advantage of the things, such as nice restaurants and shopping, that the big city has to offer.
Just my two cents worth,

Desegregation in Davidson County ended several years ago. My son has been going to schools in our neighborhood since he has been in the 1st grade. He's now in the 7th grade. Before he was in kindergarten, I was worried about him being bussed to the other side of town to go to school, so fortunately they ended that before he was enrolled other wise I would have put him in private schools.
I agree with you about the traffic though, but it isn't half as bad as the traffic in Phoenix, that city is huge and the growing pains show.
