TLC-Tenncare (DR. MADAN's) For the strong only!
When I began this profile I was hoping to have surgery and believed that this was my only option. But through much soul searching and disappointment from my surgeon Dr. Madan & his staff and Tenncare. I now understand why Dr. Harris departed. I believe with God's help I can do this myself. I was on what is called the weight management track (whatever that means) I was feed a lot of baloney about going it without surgery by my doctor's office & later told by his office manager that my sister & my self must go it alone or pay out of pocket for their services because of New restrictions by the MED. Per Dr. Madan's office manager: They can only perform 36 surgeries a year and the waiting list has approx. 300 people on it. (you do the math: roughly an 8 year wait) I'm not upset so much as for myself ( God has conditioned me to believe I can do it on my own) but for my sister and for others like her who believe that surgery is the only way. I believe that God will make away for you! Remember a blessing delayed isn't a blessing denied.
SO if anyone cares on my own I lost:
7/4/04-404lbs (started a Daniel Diet at the request of a minister)
10/18/2004 374 (my 1st visit at dr Madan's office)
11/?/04 353 lbs
1/?/05 346 lbs
1/21/05 335 lbs
I'm not upset so much as for myself ( God has conditioned me to believe I can do it on my own) but for my sister, who looked at me with tears of anger and disappointment, and for others like her who believe that surgery is the only way. I believe that God will make away for you! Remember a blessing delayed isn't a blessing denied.
For those who've had a positive experience I'm glad for you and I welcome your feed back.
However for the people who are receiving the letters from Dr. Madan's office and feel as if hope is gone. Be STRONG!! Whatever your cir****tances are (surgery or no) you are going to make.
God Bless!

Hi, have you or your sister thought about checking into other surgeons? There's more then one and plenty out there to help you. Even with your loss, what type of co morbilities do you or your sister have. I weigh less then you, but I have diabeties, arthritis, sever sleep apnea with oxygen added, and several other health problems. Including not being able to walk due to pain. I am in a power chair, dr's have told me that unless I have the surgery and soon, I won't live much longer. If the diet is working for you, great, but what about your sister? Have her check with other Dr.'s. I have been denied 8 times because I am a high risk. So I know there are great Dr.'s out there. Don't give up on them, losing the weight is great, it really is, and most insurance companies require a 6 month diet program under supervision. Good luck and tell your sister and others to not give up. There is help out there and Dr.'s to help them. Kathy
