INFO ON TLC MEDICAID!

I must say that the insurance plans out there **** me off.I am on TLC medicaid,covered by the state for low income people.And they have stated on their website and their handbook that WLS is NOT covered.Please let me correct this.IT IS covered if it is deemed medically necessary! So anyone in Tennessee with TLC medicaid,WLS IS covered if it is medically necessary.I should do some kind of petition or something to get them to change that on their site and in their handbooks.Right off hand people are going to look at this and just give up and say they don't cover it.GRRR.me being the stubborn person that I am I called anyways...and guess what!I asked,"Why do you have stated you do not cover it if you do if it is medically neccessary....couldn't answer me...hmm go figure.Just burns me up.Anyways,just thought maybe this info could help someone out!

Thanks for the info. I also have Medicade for low income. Medicare is basically the same way, they won't cover the surgery unless I have a health problem that caused me to become obese. Take care, and become a spokesperson and fight them on their wording. Kathy
