Pregnancy after WLS.....

I am in the process of getting approved for WLS. I am 30 and have not had children yet- it would be almost impossible with my PCS and added weight so we are waiting until after I have the WLS. Has anyone gotten pregnant after having the surgery and how are you doing?? I know it is encouraged to wait a year, I was just hoping for some actual testimonials as to how you are during and after pregnancy once you have had WLS. Thanks. Bryna

Hey! I meet you at the simanar. I'm Michelle. I was there 10/5 and I talked to you before we went. So have you submitted your things to the insurance?? I did, and am waiting for the approval - hopefully! I have BCBS of IL. I think they are a little harder to get approval than TN, from what I've read and learned. I've decided to go to Southern Hills - Dr. Morton. A friend I worked with had her lap done there and she had a great experience and they were all so nice. He just does the lap, so I felt more comfortable with that. Cent. seemed like they were all about the bypass to me. Anyway, my friend had her surgery in July and is down 90 lbs and in a size 8! So, see it is possible - I read your profile! I'm sure it's fine to have babies after surgery - another girl I know had gastric and has had 2 kids since and she still looks great! I already have my kids a 3 yr old girl- Mya and a 6 mon. old boy - Beau. It would have probably been easier if I would have lost weight before my kids, but now I'm determined! I've decided either way i am doing this by April, even if I have to self pay! So, let me know what's going on with you! Talk to you later Michelle!
