losing weight before surgery
My Dr. wants me to "try" to lose some weight before surgery, any suggestions?? I went to the dietician today and she suggested the opti-fast program because she said I could lose at least 3 lbs a week and would be motivated by that weight loss. Has anyone tried this program. Other than the weekly support group, what is the difference between this and something like slimfast?? Also, the cost if this program is a bit more than I can afford, something like $60.00 a week.
I have a private nutritionist that I've been seeing since June. I started seeing her before I even decided to look into surgery. I've lost 25lbs since June. When I told my surgeon about my nutritionist, he was glad to hear what I was doing and said to keep it up.
I still see her and will continue whether or not surgery happens soon. She has helped me with nutrition and eating habits. Her costs are $45 per 30-minute session ($450 for 10 weeks). Yes I could be doing something else with that money but more than likely it would be revolving around food so I choose to do this instead. Don't say you can't afford it because you can . . . it's your life! I was at my wits end about my weight and had to take control of my life.
