I'm new!

Hi there everyone, I'm new to the site! I had been contemplating surgery for about six months when I was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes and hypertension. I'm only 23, and this scared me, A LOT! Since I don't have health insurance and can't get any, I'm going to be paying out of pocket (well, actually, my loving, wonderful parents are going to be paying) for Dr. Husted to do my surgery at Baptist. I'm going for my consultation next week, and I'm hoping to schedule my date for June (when I'm out of law school for the summer). I just wanted to say that I've found this website incrediably inspiring and educational! I appreciate each and everyone who posts because it helps to reassure me that this is what I need to do! Welcome Marian , You right this website is very educational, I accidental come unpon the website and it has truely helped me alot. Good luck and I am like you young well I am 28 I still consider myself young and when I was around your age it was when I became morbidly obesit and it was hard to come to terms with and I had a lapband on dec 17 so I am new to the other side but if there is anything I can do to help let me know my email is [email protected]. Welcome Marian, Dr Spaw did my surgery in Oct, it was the best decision I have ever made I have already lost 55lbs. The office staff is so wonderful I had a few return visits to the hospital and they were so concerned and helpful when I would call in to see if I needed to come back in to the office. Baptist is a great hospital and I was treated wonderfully. Good Luck I am sure everything will go smoothly and in no time you will be healthy and on the losing side. hi marian! i just wanted to tell you i think you will really like dr. husted. i had my consultation with him a month ago and i thought he was a super nice guy and he made feel relaxed. i have heard soooo many good things about him. i have everything done as far as the paper work shuffle that the insurance requires so now i am just waiting for approval. it seems like forever but i know God is just teaching me some more about patience. i'm new to the site too and have really been impressed with all the support. its' awesome! i wish you the best of luck and will be praying for you sweetie! piper
