I AM TUBELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my feeding tube removed yesterday and finally hit the 50lbs lost mark and even exceeded it by 52lbs lost since the day before surgery 8 weeks ago. My clothes are beginning to fall off me and folks at work are asking what I did to lose all this weight.
Along those lines, I have a funny story. Last year I was on a wellness committee at work and facilitated a Weigh****chers at Work program for one session. There was this lady in our group who had lost like 150lbs and she was always going on and on about how hard it was and how much sacrifice she did to lose the weight. When I first found this site and was looking at profiles of folks my doctor did, guess who popped up. She had had GBS with the same doctor who did mine three years ago. I was kinda sad that she never owned up to it as I was doing my 6 month diet thing when I met her and told everyone I was working to get approved for the weight loss surgery.
The moral of my story is I never hesitate to tell folks who ask me how I've lost so much that I had gastric bypass surgery, for I don't think it's shameful to finally realise without help you won't lose weight and be healthy.
Hope this finds you all well and your holiday season isn't too stressful.
Kelly (the tubeless wonder)
way to go kelly, I nkow that had to feel good to finally be tube free. and your diong fantastic on the weight loss. I am down about 55 pounds but have been stuck there for about 2 and a half weeks now. this past week has been very strange as I have developed a slight pain near my central incision. it is a deep bluntpain like a pulled muscle. it is anoying and very uncomfortable but not constant and worse in the mornings . add ot that that when the pain arrived I suddenly found myself haveing difficulty eating my evening meal. nothing really bad just seems more difficult to et anything in the evening. I have switched back to more soups which
seems to go down much easier for me than regular food. how is the nausea doing these days? hope it has gone away completely and glad your doing so well. have a great day. Joe
