never give up - dreams do come true
I have tried for two years to get approved for this surgery. First with bcbs which after many appeals, was turned down flat. I have now gotten my approval with Cigna. My surgery with Dr. Rutledge is Jan 4th.
If you are going after approval from your ins co. all I can tell you is have documentation. All you can get from as many Dr.s as you can possible get it from. The more the better. If the ins. needs more info, get it for them. The pay-off was worth it. There were many times I wanted to give up because of the red tape, but I never did. I would get upset. cool-off, then go get the paperwork they asked for. Reading all the support letters from this board has really helped me too. Thanks to everyone and God bless each of you. I will keep you posted as to my progress. Thanks again.

Hi Becky, it is so true, don't give up on your dreams. I have dreamed of having this surgery for so long, been denied by 8 surgeons. I now have one but living on $510 from Social Security doesn't go far when I have to pay $200 just to register. A very lovely man from this site wants to give me the gift so that I can start my journey. God has truly blessed this man. All he asks is that I pay it forward. My dreams are starting to look like they're going to come thru. Thanks for not giving up, I haven't and I expect to see you on the losing side. Kathy
