Does Tenncare Select cover Plastic Surgery (tummy tuck)?

If anyone out there has tenncare select and plastic surgery i would really love to hear about the process. who was the surgeon, what tenncare covered, etc. thanks in advance Rachel 270/166

Hi Rachel I'm still a pre-op, so I don't know the answer to your question. But on the back of your card, call the number, and ask for a case manager to be assigned to you. The manager will call you within 24-48 hours, ask this person about the plastic surgeon. They will work for you in giving you names of surgeons who does the surgeon and accepts your insurance. Please let me know what you find out, I have medicare/tn blue care medicaid. I have a case manager and she's terrific. Best of luck in this part of your journey. Kathy

One other thing, when calling TN Care Select, don't ask if they cover Plastic surgery, ask if they cover reconstructive surgery. Let them know you have the gastric bypass, but have excess skin that neeeds to be removed. That is more of a medical problem then having plastic surgery to have a nose job. May help you more. Kathy
