I got home yesterday!
I got to go home yesterday about 140pm. It took awhile but not extremelly bad. The anethesiologist(sp?) took out the epidural around 11am. So, I started hurting around 1230pm. They gave me a lose dose of morphine so I could be somewhat confortable before they change the bandage on my incision and take out the central line in my neck and JP drain. Boy, that did hurt, but I was able to tolerate it. I was treated nice there for the most part. A couple of nurses I did not care for the attitude, but they not were not mean to me. They just need a 'cheer up pill', I chose the epidural instead of morpine for my pain relief. I was up and walking by wednesday afternoon. They got me up and walking at 3pm then I walked twice more on my own and more each day. They said I was a 'model patient'. Well, I don't know about that but I am determined not to get sick with pneumonia. Dr. Steely was the one that discharged me. I recognized him from pictures. I was impressed that during my surgery that Dr. Hruska's nurse Judy was there in the operating room with me, giving me oxygen and that's all I remember. Well I will write more with I am up to it. I just wanted to let you all know that I have great Angel, Dixie. And yes Dixie you did give out the right information on my room number both times. They decided to move patients down the hall. Talk you all guys later, you all have been wonderfull! I am going to get some rest now. I am just relieved to finally some gas relief:
Lisa
I'm glad you are finally home. I know you are thrilled to be there. Just remember walk walk walk and lots of fluids. I was wondering about the room number deal hehe I called and a lady answered and she sounded a bit upset with me and told me "she didn't know who lisa was" hehe so I called back to the switchboard and they gave me the second room number but Im glad it all worked out. *huggles*
