I am back for a bit.

Sorry I have been off line for awhile but work calls, I have had all my nutrition classes now and have met with Dr. Mcgrath. I feel very comfortable with her and having the ability to have Lap is really a blessing. I have a confirmed date now of October 25th, I could have gone much earlier but I am being selfish in wanting to spend the time with my daughter before she leaves for new york in oct. I can recouperate after she leaves, and 30 days is not that much to wait. I have begun cutting back on high calorie drinks and caffien and the loss of the sugar high and caffien stimulant has really cut into my energy reserves. I often find myself crashing , and I mean literally crashing into bed around 8 pm. It has gotten better in the last few days so I hope I am over the hump on the caffein. Not sure I can take not having any energy. I did find out that Dr. Mcgrath does not use the vena cava filters but does use the blood thinners. I will start a liver shrinkage diet about 3 weeks prior to surerym but uckily its not a full liquid diet. then 2 weeks of liquids after surgery and 6 weeks of pureed food. oh what joy. Managed to make it to the year aniversary of the clinic I am at now along with the support group. what an inspiration these people have been. I cant tell how proud I was of each and every one of them and I did not even know a soul there. In the first year of the clinic they have recorded over 8000 pounds lost on their patients. Truly amazing. I am still working to help those I can after hours on their appeals. Lately I have not had as much time as I had hoped to work on them though. Still no word on what caused Dr. Alston to have to resign. I continue to pray that it is nothing serious. Anyway , Just wanted to check in and say hello to all of you. Hi Joe, great seeing u online again. I love your profile, but my cats are prettier. LOL, I just haven't figured out how to get the messages into the cat section. Any Ideas I would appreciate them. Are you talking Sept. 25 for surgery or October 25? Because you refer to waiting another month. If it's in Sept. it's my birthday. Yeah Joe Glad to see you again... Glad to see you have a date. I dont think it is selfish of you to spend time with your baby...LOL.. I would probally do the same. The surgeon i see requested i do the same "liver diet' and aske di loosee 8 pounds before surgery. well now i bwtter make it 13... I understand shrining the liver increases your chance of a sucessful lap instead of open? Any hoo glad things are going well for you. I am waiting still on the outcome of my first appeal, So i still dont have a date.... Michelle
