when it rains it pours
{{{hugs to you Joe!}}}.. I am very sorry to hear about your problems concerning your surgeon, sometimes things happen and there really isn't anything we can do to change them but please don't be too discouraged.. keep pushing for what you think is right for you.
God does know everything, and we just have to trust Him to do what is best for us..even when we do not understand the why's of it at the time..
I do not know any surgeons in memphis as I am in Knoxville, however I am sure there are many good surgeons out there..and I have to believe that God does not give us anything we can not handle. Perservere, and it will happen when the time is right for you..God does not close one door without opening another..It is what keeps me going when I feel it is hopeless at times..and there are plenty of those times when the ole devil tries to discourage us. You have come too far to give up now..best of luck to you Joe, and know I am praying for you!
If you ever just need someone to talk to or vent to I am always here.. just email me.
sincerely,
Dawn
Knoxville..BEST WISHES!
Wow! I'm so sorry to hear this Joe! *Hugs*
I don't know any doctors in Memphis but you know - Nashville isn't that far away, maybe you could try there. But I do recommend you try soon because from my own experince the approval letter is only good for a year. I'm not sure how it is with other insurance companies though - You may want to call and look into that!
Good luck and I'm so sorry this had to happen!

Joe.....Go to Dr. McGrath Weaver. You could be having surgery sooner than October and she is an awesome doctor. Best to get in now she is pregnant and having her baby sometime in February. You will love her and she may even give you the option of Lap instead of open RNY. Just call and talk to her office. Her number is 765-3040. They can tell you what is what. I"m sorry about Dr. Alston being sick and all. I know I started out with him and then found out about Dr. McGrath and then switched because I really wanted Lap. Just check her out, her success rate is awesome and her complications are minimal.
