Why Liquids Only

I was instructed to consume only liquids for 2 wks prior to my lap-band surgery on 3-15-04. Dr. said that they have to lift up the liver to do the surgery.. & the liver holds water. I am just not getting it !!!

The surgeon wants the liver to shrink some by using up your sugar stores prior to surgery.
