upper GI required for insurance through Aetna HCA?

is it required through Aetna through Centennial(HCA) to do a Upper GI? especially if you have acid reflux?

Call your insurance customer service number (on your card) and ask them exactly what their requirements are. They will tell you what they require and what they will pay for.

I can only speak for myself, but I have similar insurance and had to do an Upper GI. I don't think it was 'required', but I had acid reflux and hiatial (sp?) hernia so the surgeon wanted one done to be on the safe side. Hope this helps.

ok I found out that my insurance doesnt require it so I will see if my surgeon will want me to now.
