In need of a Primary Care doctor....

who is supportive of Weight Loss Surgery. I need to PCP, in general, and since I am looking for one I want one who will be supportive. I live in the Hendersonville area, and would prefer something close but would travel downtown if need be.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Im in Hendersonville as well.  Hubby and I (who both had surgery - 12/30 last year for me and hubs 2/5) go to Dr. G. Summers Chaffin.  They are in the office complex across from the Food Lion.  has been supportive of our journey in this.  Hope that helps.

  Yes, as Missy said, our Doctor has been very supportive. They always get us in right away if we need something, you may not always see the doctor, it may be a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician's Assistant, but believe me they have always done a great job with us. To be a little more exact, the name of the medical practice is Family Wellness Group of Middle TN, click here for their website with contact info. I use Dr. Michael P. Miller who is on Church Street in Nashville near Baptist hospital. he is very WLS supportive,even with my going to Mexico.

When I told him I was going to Mx and why,he immediately said he would want to see me  when I returned so he could began to order and follow my labs,etc.
He is also an allergist which is nice when I have allergy/sinus issues.

I also live in Hendersonville and Dr. Struble (H'ville Hospital, Bldg. C) was very supportive. We met for the first time in November this year (we moved here in August). Neither my insurance company or Dr. Struble required the 6-month doctor-supervised diet. After meeting with Vanderbilt insurance specialist a couple of weeks ago and verifying for sure that the 6-month diet was not required, I sent a detailed letter to Dr. Struble as to my prior weight-loss efforts, exercise habits, etc. along with a sample support letter from Vanderbilt. I received the letter of support from Dr. Struble within 5 days. I plan to stick with him as my PCP and follow-up with him as he was so supportive.
