New to Message Board
Hi everyone,
I am new to the message board, but have been reading lots of great information from all the posts. I had RNY surgery on May 11 but developed complications with my heart. I stayed in the hospital 7 days after surgery for that problem. Fortunately, the medication for the heart problem has helped, but I am concerned that the meds and the lack of activity permitted has slowed my weight loss.
I have only lost 14 pounds since surgery and NOTHING the past week. I know I have probably hit a plateau and "this too shall pass", but I am very frustrated. I have been keeping a daily food journal, drinking my water, and doing what limited exercise I can (cardiac needs to release me to do more). I read from other postings that this is probably normal--but I guess I need some reassurance!

I know a few people who have had some pretty major complications... they were late losers (is that kinda like a late bloomer only reverse? I dunno! lol) But, they look great, they feel great, and are still in the losing stages...
I'm sorry you are frustrated... so soon after surgery we all want to wake up and the weight is gone... but keep in mind that it didn't take us overnight to become obese, and it certainly won't take overnight to become thin... Hang in there... You can and will do it!
Welcome to the board... I hope you are on your way to a speedy recovery!
