X-POST HORRIBLE Upper Back Pain

Hi guys,
I am 2 weeks out today.  For the last 3-4 days I have had a horrible pain in my upper back, especially my right shoulder blade.  It is so painful, especially when standing or sitting, which stinks because I am back to work and hurting. 

Has anyone else ever had anything like this? 

Yes it could be trapped gas.  You will have that for some time but you might just want to give your docs office a call just to be on the safe side.

Well I called Holly @ Dr. Houston's and she called Dr. Dyer since Dr. Houston is on vacation.  Dr. Dyer said that it was too far past the operation for it to be gas.  Based on the location of the pain they were very concerned that it could be my gall bladder or even worse a clot.  Dr. Dyer asked me to go to the ER right away.  So I did.  Got a CT scan and an ultrasound and thank goodness it was neither.  Apparently I have managed to strain something in my back in my recovery period????  The doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer and pain meds and sent me on my way.  I kind of felt like a doofus as I left but as my hubby said, you can't mess around post op because of the threat of clots, that is how people die.

I'm glad it was nothing serious.  anytime a person has ANy pain that they are not sure about, they should not wait for answers from the board...  call a surgeon immediately....
